  THE PATH OF HONG-IK BODHISATTVA

Know that ego is made up of thoughts, emotions and the five senses.

Say “Don’t know.” to all your thoughts, emotions and the five senses.

Exist simply as the presence of ‘I’ in the realm that has no function of the mind.

The presence of ‘I’ is everlasting.

This place is perfect transcending time and space.

There is only awareness.

There is only existence.

Be aware of the mind that functions with thoughts, emotions, and the five senses.

Thoughts, emotions and the five senses are the manifestations of the true self.

Thoughts cannot exist without the awareness of the true self.

Even the true self experiences the phenomenal world through thoughts.

Emotions cannot exist without the awareness of the true self.

The true self experiences the phenomenal world also through emotions.

The five senses cannot exist without the awareness of the true self.

The true self experiences the phenomenal world

through the five senses.

In sum, all the workings of our mind are the workings of the true self.

Feel the everlasting existence of our mind that never perishes.

If the true self is the ocean, then the mind is the wave.

If the true self is the Sun, then the mind is the sunlight.

If the true self is everlasting, then the mind is also everlasting.

Both of them are originally the same.

‘The existence of I’ always shines within us.

And as the true self shines, we will forever stay in the phenomenal world and live by listening, feeling, and thinking.

The mind that is the manifestation of the true self will never die.

If our minds are everlasting, then our world will be everlasting too.

Although our appearance may change from moment to moment, we will never perish but remain in the phenomenal world, seeing, hearing, feeling, and thinking through thoughts, emotions, and the five senses.

Our thoughts, emotions, and the five senses are designed to influence all beings.

If we follow the path that benefits ourselves as well as others, we will harvest the fruits of goodness.

However, if we follow the path that harms ourselves and others, we will end up with negative results.

In order to make the universe brighter and happier, perform good deeds using your thoughts, speech

and actions at all times and in all places.

Please perform lots of good deeds that will last forever.

That is the true path of Hong-Ik Bodhisattva.
